Integrative Medicine

Offering the best of all possible healing choices and modalities to patients is one of the major components of Planetree. The UNC Program on Integrative Medicine clinic and consult service offer patients and families the opportunity to work with a team of practitioners to develop wholistic, patient-centered treatment plans and options. Educational programs include courses, fieldwork, and internships for UNC students and faculty, and seminars which are open to the community. The popular Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program is offered three times per year, and a number of research projects and clinical trials are underway.

Our newest initiatives include developing an Integrative Diabetes Management Program for rural underserved populations, and mini-workshops in selected CAM modalities for UNC Health Care staff.
