Planetree in the UNC Cancer Center

The joint relationship between Oncology Services and the Planetree model of care is a partnership of great value to UNC and the patients and families we serve. The driver for all of our care is to create healing environments, both physical as  well as emotional; to enhance one's life and recognize our patient's individual goals of diagnosis, intervention and outcomes and to integrate the need for quality outcomes with patient and family goals for quality of life preserved.

Recognition of the power of the human interaction,empowerment of education and the ability to create a healing relationship beyond actual physical care  components is our mission.  New initiatives for inpatients and outpatients include those listed below.
